It begins.
MANY years ago, we bought a Silver Birch ''Jacquemontii'' (Betula Utilis). It eventually got a bit huge and was eventually slain.
I have NO idea how long we've had this Cedrus Atlantica glauca pendula. As usual Alice fell in love with it, and at about the same time "A Bloom" had a garden show on TV.
I sought him out, likewise "Blooms of Bressingham , which may be extinct (I couldn't find them), but did find proof "he" existed - thus ---> "A book that tells the fascinating story of how Adrian (BLOOM) developed Foggy Bottom from an open meadow in 1967 to 6 acres of dramatic planting."
He had a Cedar in "Foggy Bottom" which he'd taken a, naturally pendant branch and propped it horizontal - SO - Alice did.
You are looking at it. In its youth A. N. Other asked "What's that straggly evergreen Marty?" My then pseudonym christened after Marti Caine. "Baby look at you now."
Extra left - Outside, looking in. That mighty horizontal is the Pencil thin twig "we" trained horizontal a ls Foggy Bottom
Extra right - Inside, looking out. Both give a SLIGHT inclination of how much further it has extended.
I think it'll go soon - hence the record.
One of these - two gives some indication of its growth. I'll see if I can unearth a shot of its infancy - later.
