Living Rock

Bitterly cold in the wind, I didn't wander far. Looking for something that wasn't going to move, I gravitated towards some lichen covered rocks. Unfortunately, I was still moving.

Such images of lichen often put me in mind of either views of the universe or fireworks in the night sky. Today I'm more thinking of coral reefs. They could be related I suppose, if not biologically, then mathematically.

Of course, I processed the image to push the contrast and enhance the effect.
