Cold

Oh my it was cold today! A high of 42F/5C brrr! Tonight we'll have a low of 30F, and in the subsequent nights the temps promise to drop down into the 20'sF. I have lettuce and other cold weather veggies growing in my raised bed here at the HOA. A couple of weeks ago I set it up so that I could cover it with bird netting so I could keep the darned squirrels from digging up my seedlings. But it's also a perfect structure for covering with row cover to keep the frost off. I'm hoping to keep it going over the winter, but it's always a gamble. Often the first week of December is really cold for some reason, but it's often not the only time it gets cold. My fingers were freezing by the time I got back to my condo!

A day of puttering and cleaning and organizing. With house sitters coming in January while I'm in Mexico, I feel compelled to go through my house. I have a carload of stuff for Goodwill tomorrow, plus I put some nicer stuff up on the BuyNothingProject on Facebook. Gotta clean out the stuff I'm not using anymore! Always glad when people can use what I can't.
