Goodbye to the Grebes and NZ

Fingers crossed we will be back in Sydney at some stage today.  Just sitting at the airport for a few hours due to severe plane delays in Sydney.  We were really keen to revisit the nesting Grebes on Lake Wanaka in the morning light and we weren’t disappointed.  The story behind the nesting boxes on the lake is a fascinating one and I’m sure Mydaytoday2018 won’t mind me sharing the link she sent me yesterday.  This is a must listen to interview with John Darby and how he came to be so involved in the Lake Wanaka Grebe Project.
