I love my Fireglow
I love its leaves in Spring when they glow, I love them in Fall when they are a very intense red, I love them on the ground.
I got to have post-Thanksgiving with my friend and I brought leftovers - chicken pot pie and curry pumpkin. Delicious!
I took an extra long lunch to do it and worked extra long to make up for it but had an absolutely fascinating day. Intellectual buzz, spoke with very smart and knowledgeable people, learned outstanding things from people who were also working the day after Thanksgiving.
Sometimes there is all sorts of news and sometimes I can barely find one story.
The ruble has crashed. This should worsen Russian’s trade balance. It is expected to get worse. Putin told Russians not to worry about it. There are no grounds for panic. Situation is under control.
The US has sanctioned Gazprombank, one of the largest Russian lenders. We’d left it alone before so Europe could buy gas.
Rumors are that a Russian anti-aircraft missile system in Crimea was hit.
Another hit - one news report said it was a Buk-M3 radar but it is actually a Buk-M3 surface-air-missile system destroyed in occupied Zaporizhzhia. It is valued at four million pounds.
Russia’s Atlas oil terminal supplies fuel to the Russian army. The Atlas oil terminal USED to supply oil to the Russian army. A drone strike started two fires there.
They also destroyed a Podlet radar station valued at $5 million in Crimea. It can detect 200 air targets at once. It was designed to detect low-altitude targets, like drones. Ha.
AND they destroyed a Zoopark-1 counter-battery radar system in Donetsk. It is prized and supposedly worth $24 million. While playing Scrabble last night I learned that radar is an acronym for radio detection and ranging. I also learned snafu is an acronym. I’m not telling you, look it up, yes that means it has a swear word.
