Living Geography

Cambridge

A pottering day - Storm Bert was apparently going to make a mess of the weekend for a lot of people. I hoped it wouldn't affect the trains. To Norwich and back early. Over to Downham to catch an empty train (works on the line meant rail replacement from Cambridge so a lot of people weren't travelling). Rain held off for a while, but then came down heavily. Popped into the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, and Heffers. Before 6 I was at the Cambridge Union where I picked up this book. Then settled for a talk from Mackenzie Crook about the book. He also talked about his work on detectorists (and mentioned the 'Geography of detectorists' book by Innes Keighren and Jo Norcup) and Worzel and plenty more - plus of course his love for Nick Drake. A nice talk - power walked back to station to get another empty train home.
