Palacio de Arenales

We have stopped for the day, on the outskirts of Cáceres, just as the sun was setting, and are booked in to a hotel for the night. It will be a joyful evening as a large wedding reception is being held here with a live band and dancing. 

The hotel surroundings are beautifully kept with ancient olive groves. The  photo shows the old stone gateway to what was once the driveway of the summer residence of the Golfin Family, dating back to the 17th century. The old residence has been stylishly incorporated into a modern hotel. 

It's lovely to be safely here and I hope you are all enjoying a restful Saturday.
