1011 day of war
Hello, friends!
This week, we spent almost all of it in darkness. Attacks on energy facilities continue, and in recent days, our city has been under heavy bombardment. In past years, we were relatively fortunate with few strikes on the city, but this winter, the situation has changed, and we are now experiencing the most severe damage since the war began.
By the end of the week, we were shifted from emergency power outage schedules to planned ones, meaning we now alternate between 2 hours with electricity and 8 hours without throughout the day. This makes life and work much harder, but we’re managing somehow. Fortunately, the season of gift-giving is starting, and our main work is related to this, so even without electricity, we’re trying to stay busy.
Honestly, I’m still surprised that, even when most people are spending their days without power and the country is facing tougher times, holiday gifts are still being purchased. But I'm glad about that, because the T-shirt dyeing job is not needed at all right now, and I haven't received any orders for a while.. So, I’m focusing all my efforts on the main job and trying to get as much done as possible during the short intervals when we have electricity.
Even though these are tough times, we try to keep ourselves occupied to avoid going stir-crazy during the cold, dark evenings. We play board games by candlelight and flashlights, keep warm with tea, and sometimes, when everything is charged, we watch serials on phone. Overall, we’re managing to make the most of it, and as long as it’s not too cold outside, these outages are relatively bearable.
Meanwhile, the city is setting up a Christmas tree. It’s strange to see it being erected while the city is in darkness. I understand it’s being done for the children, so they can have some joy during such challenging times, and that's right. Life should not stop because of war.
I just hope that over time, the electricity situation improves and they’ll be able to light the tree this year.
Thank you all for your support. I believe we can get through this, just as we have past winters, and everything will be okay. And thanks for your support on Buy Me a Coffee, it really helps. Thank you!
