Poppy field

This afternoon we went for the first proper walk for weeks - since before the weather got really hot. We parked at Farley Mount, walked on tracks between fields and then back through Parnholt Wood. This part of the route went between large fields filled with poppies - the flowers are over now, with just the seed heads left, rattling in the breeze like millions of tiny maracas.

Before we got back to the car the rain that we'd been expecting arrived and we got soaked - a nice feeling after all the hot weather.
