Another four bite the dust
So today I've done biscotti, honeyed pear pie, coconut chicken rice and these almond shorties.
Only 18 recipes left to do - at least until they decide if there are any gaps which need filling. Then I get to do a bit more creating. The sticky toffee pud I came up with is possibly the finest thing I've created. I think it even beats my carrot cake but I'll have to get a vote from the boys on that one :)
These little biscuits are really crumbly and very nice. I think the recipe needs a little salt but otherwise they are quick and easy to make. The grated zest of an orange would work well too.
Of the other things I did today... The chicken and rice dish was not as spicy as I would like but still pleasant. The pastry for the pear pie was outstanding, I will definitely make that again. The biscotti recipe was easy enough but tricky to slice after baking and before drying out in the oven. I may do a little research on that and see if I can improve the recipe a little.
Thankfully Auntie Mavis is stoically taste testing everything for me - I have a little taste of things of course, but don't really have a sweet tooth.
Although I'd happily eat that STP anytime.
