Lest we forget
In Bayeux tonight, a wee history lesson on our way home. Torrential rain and thunder & lightning put paid to our visit to the D Day beaches. However the rain finally stopped and we walked to the British cemetery after dinner. We managed to find the name of my great uncle on the memorial wall. Alexander Bain was 54 when he died, his body was never found. Surely every Briton must have a connection with this moving place.
