Whoosh!

It was wild and windy today but that didn’t deter us from taking a walk down to the harbour to see the waves crashing off the walls.  It was surprisingly mild and will be for a few more days according to the forecast.

Originally known as the Ward of Cruden, the present harbour was built between 1875 and 1880 and financed to the sum of £14,000 by the Earl of Erroll who resided in nearby Slains Castle.  The area was renamed Port Erroll to commemorate this event.

The harbour is currently used by a number of fishing vessels and a few leisure craft.

Better viewed in the large setting.
