Austin City Blues
As if yesterday’s caterpillar weren’t unseasonable enough, today we have a beautiful blooming horned iris, not a flower we normally see at Thanksgiving. According to Wiki, horns were first seen as a deformity of the plant, but breeder Llyod Austin created a whole new category called Space Age Iris that featured this unusual characteristic. I got this variety years ago at a local plant sale and it is obviously quite hardy.
We finished the last piece of pecan pie, and are officially out of leftovers.
