Geometric language
The National Gallery of Australia in Canberra is housed in a building that’s now 42 years old, designed in the ‘brutalist’ style of the times. I found this description on the Gallery’s website:
The building expresses itself in a mute geometric language. There is a harmony, an ordering of elements in the Gallery building. A unity in the variety of its spaces.
Walking around the building today, I photographed this glimpse of the building’s interior geometry, thinking that the building itself is a work of art.
There is also lots of art on the walls - see extra.
