Arnside Promenade

From the end of our pier. Soon it wll have a Christmas tree and some lights. 
When the railway viaduct was built in 1857 small trading boats could no longer go further up the river to Sandsiide and Milnthorpe so the railway company built a pier so that they could unload at Arnside. The original pier was destroyed by a storm and replaced by the present much stronger stone structure.
