Little Man started nursery today and had a lovely time. The staff were full of praise for him and said that it was obvious he'd been in a nursery setting before because he was actively involved in the group activities, like sitting in the circle with the other children, to take part.
Whilst Little Man was in nursery, I had a few hours on my hands so I biked to Woerden. I'd planned to go to Gouda but there was heavh rain forecast and I didn't want to get soaked. I was able to get a few things for a parcel I'm sending to Little Man's Nannie for Christmas as well as a few little gifts for Little Man for St. Nicolas Sinterklaas¹. I then came home and missed the rain, thankfully. I should warn you travellers who decide to go for a bike ride in the Netherlands and rely on Google Maps. Google Maps has the option of biking when choosing the transportation mode and will give a route that using biking paths, however it does sometimes take you along routes that have stairs or goes through pedestrian zones, which will lead to fines if caught. Today, Google didn't take me down a route where steps were involved (it has done before) but I had to walk through a pedestrian only park for several hundred metres pushing my bike.
Little Man and I had a pretty quiet afternoon. I had some food shopping delivered and spent a bit of time trying to tidy up, whilst fishing my son out of mischief.
I took this photo during a brief pause in the rain. Little Man was playing inside and I needed to take a moment to step outside. Being a single parent is hard work.
