They Paved Paradise, Put Up a Parking Lot
Pounding head for a lot of today, so escaped the office at lunchtime for a wander, pondering some extra shots for a specific competition. A whole load of the office buildings out by us are currently vacant, the car parks cordoned off with concrete blocks, everything being leant a dystopian air.
None more so than a single, small, split level car park. A mini-multi-storey. And centred around an odd line of trees, planted in an area of the lower section, sprouting through an opening to the upper level. It immediately brought to mind Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi, perhaps even more so with the opening creating a frame, making it feel like you're in a tree museum...
The feeling of waste exacerbated by the lights still being on, the dimness only heightening the post-apocalyptic feel.
So in short. I got my shot.
