What a day!

We decided to “pop” over to mine this morning to bring my car back, once I’d had a little tootle around to make sure i was good to drive it back to Lincoln.

We left Lincoln in C’s car at 10.30 & unfortunately we got caught up in the long delays on the M62, caused by a lorry fire on the opposite carriageway. The emergency services closed the whole of that side & 2 lanes on our side, we eventually arrived at mine at 2.20pm, should have been there by 12.30!

C dropped me off & went to sort out two tyres for his car. I gathered together clothes i needed to take back for over christmas, plus boots & winter coat, as I didn’t have these there. Also took back to mine all the girls christmas pressies, ready to wrap everything when back home next week.

I then got myself ready for tonight’s concert in Sheffield, which is why we’d chosen today to get my car, an hour to Sheffield, the gig, then another hour to Lincoln afterwards, as I’d not driven since 9 October!

We left in separate cars at 4.15pm only to find out that the M62 had been completely closed & all traffic was being directed via the route we were taking, M67……it took us 2 hours to go 9 miles. Eventually we made our way onto the Snake Pass & then made good time getting to the venue at 7.40 instead of our planned 6pm.

We had literally sat down with a much needed glass of wine when The Vintage Explosion came on stage. They were just brilliant, what a voice their lead singer has!!

They had the whole place rocking, just what we needed after the day we’d had. If you like 60s rock n roll go see them, you won’t be disappointed I promise you :-)

We eventually arrived back at Cs at 23.45pm ….. very tired & hungry
