Grey Heron

Made a very silly/lazy mistake today and almost got one of the young heron killed. I was goin to go the long route to the loch which means I avoid the main road. I decided that instead I would just go the short way as it was a Sunday and the road was quiet. I got up to the entrance and as I drew near one of the young heron flew low towards me over the road. a car came through the lights thankfully slowly and hit the heron a glancing blow. It continued flying up to a roof and later down to the park for a feed. I will never go that way again. The shot today is the little female.
