Viewforth Church

I have walked past this church going to work for over 4 years now, however it is only since I started doing blip that I realised it didn't look right!

As you will see from the photo the tower is missing some turrets. I checked out the church's website to see if I could find out why?
Apparently the same gales which destroyed the Tay Bridge knocked off three turrets from the tower in 1879 and although repairs were carried out the tower continually needed repairs over the years and it was finally taken down in 1976 because of its dangerous condition. I am still a bit confused though as shouldn't there have been four turrets???
