More Book Bears
The Still Life With Tiny Objects TT theme came in handy today as I wanted to have another play with the focus stacking on the Sony.
At first I thought it wasn't working but I realised that for the two pieces I had arranged I was going to need a lot of images to cover the depth. After a bit of experimentation I went for 50! I was pleased that Photoshop on my PC still worked with 50 layers. I wanted to save the file before flattening the layers but it was too big for a TIFF, eventually I saved it as a 7GB PSB file (a Photoshop Large Document). I'm not going to be keeping that.
For a first attempt the results are OK, though there is something going on around the objects as there is a halo obscuring the background.
They are of course borrowed from mrsfb's book figurine collection. They are quite small, the one at the back is about 5cm tall.
As it happens the judge at camera club last night was hot on image sharpness, so keen on focus stacking. She dismissed one of my images ((this one, beware it's a spider) as not being sharp enough. I didn't do too badly though with a first place for my three wet leaves. It printed nicely, and I turned it up the other way which helped.
In other news I'm up to date with all my Lightroom stuff now. Oh and the boiler service man came today too.
