A Shed Load of Stuff
I had a productive day at the Men's Shed working on a project that came to me at about 3am this morning...
The wooden frame was made by a fellow Shedder who has been learning stained glass with me. He is a very talented cabinet maker and I'm sure he will be excellent at glass work as well.
The concept of this piece is to have what is meant to be a vase (I will experiment with other shapes in the future) that will hold my mini glass bouquets of flowers.
For those of you that might want some technical details the 'rain glass' is whole where you can see it. The blue vase is both sides of that with an extra strip added either side of the front one. These have been glass glued and soldered in place and this allows me to put the flowers in and to change them if I wish.
Extras: As I was about to leave the Northallerton Soul Club popped in to hand over a donation to the Shed. They had a tour around the workshops and we may find ourselves a few more members. A huge shout out to them.
Other Extra: I mentioned yesterday I had secured some space for the stained glass section so that we don't have to clear away the equipment every day. The second extra shows the layout we have. The wooden trays were made by myself to help keep glass within a confined space when cutting. They double up as soldering hubs and storage of ongoing projects.
