Inspired by ...
Saul Leiter. I went on a photo workshop led by Brian Lloyd Duckett (of Streetsnappers) today. The aim was to get some inspiration from the photography of Saul Leiter during an afternoon and evening around Piccadilly and Soho. For a change I used a longer focal length (about 80mm equivalent), shot mainly at a very wide aperture of F1.4 and mainly in portrait format. Saul usually obscured any people by shooting through things or showing just parts of them but I found this the most difficult . Hence my main image here shows a clear face whereas I've added some more typical images as extras. It was a great day and Brian is an excellent teacher.
