Choosing the Christmas tree
Sunday
We had a busy morning at church, celebrating the first Sunday in Advent, playing handbells and singing in the choir. Our handbell piece was an arrangement of Adeste Fideles (O Come all ye faithful) for handbells, organ and trumpet, quite rousing in places. We played pretty well, and it was well received. It was a sunny but very cold day, and after lunch, we went to choose our real Christmas tree for the living room - I had put up our small artificial tree in the family room on Friday. We found a nice one quite quickly and got it set up, but didn’t start on the decorations yet. In the evening we went out to a local concert, in a nearby church, performed by BAMSO, Blue Ash and Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. We live in the neighbourhood of Montgomery, and Blue Ash is the adjacent neighbourhood. It was a light concert of holiday music, getting the Christmas season off to a good start.
