Christmas World
I made a lovely breakfast of eggs and, by 1 pm, we’d walked to the Busy Bee Garden Centre. It's Christmas World time.
Before getting into the whole Christmas theme, we found two festive throws on sale in the bedding department. We'll give one to PY's mum tomorrow and take one home to try to make the sofa cosier.
Part of the centre is converted into a Christmas wonderland. We spent time looking at all the decorations, baubles and singing characters. The magical part, for me, is beyond all the tree ornaments, where there is a mini Christmas world comprised of many decorated model houses and scenes (all of which are available for sale). It's really nicely done – a bit like a model railway but without the complex train network (there is a train in the model, but it's simply a loop).
Then there are several rooms of lights. I love all the different things that are illuminated. These infinite Santa light mirrors are very unusual, and I hadn't seen them before: the lights seem to go on forever. There are more types of string lights than anybody could ever want, and I always want to buy more. I restrained myself.
After a snack in the café, where PY had a festive cherry latte, which looked like a mini Christmas tree with a white cream top and sprinkles, we crossed the road to Tesco and bought dinner and the microwave meals PY's mum had asked for. Going to a bigger supermarket than usual always makes us want to buy more than we need. Again, I was restrained, although I did splurge on a Christmas jumper.
