Parcel
At lunchtime, I went to the Post Office to send Mum and Dad the advent calendar I bought in Newport so they could take it on holiday. There was quite a queue of people posting things, and the delivery was over £9 (but it will be tracked). I added some second-class stamps to my order and spent nearly £30.
I bought lunch and dinner ingredients in Waitrose so that after I finished work, I could get the sausages on before PY came home. It turned out delicious.
As I'd posted an advent calendar and was thinking about Christmas postage, I decided it would be good to look up all the Christmas cards that go abroad and write them so I can take them to the Post Office tomorrow and get them out in plenty of time. So, my cards are written to Thailand, Norway, the USA, and the Republic of Ireland. And then I decided to wrap the calendar I buy Vicki every year. It's a little tradition that one of my friends in Shrewsbury is sent the Monet calendar each year. It's such a habit that I don't know what I'd do if I weren't sending it.
This year, I was organised and ordered it from Amazon at the end of October. It's been waiting to be sent for a few weeks. I found some Christmas wrapping paper this evening without venturing to the back of the loft. So the calendar was wrapped, and then I did this terrible parcel wrap on it. I don't know why I cut the paper at an odd angle to make it wrap so badly. Anyway, it's done and can be posted tomorrow, and hopefully, it will be received in good time (rather than the usual last-minute rush).
I've only written seven Christmas cards; they won't be posted until tomorrow, but this evening feels remarkably productive.
