Strange?

I don't think so?  We have opted for a wicker coffin and the Funeral Director said that it was possible to visit the willow weaver to help to make it.  I was not sure but James was keen and we both reasoned Aimee would approve as she loved 'crafts' and also loved 'experiences'.  Over the years she has bought me pottery painting, pottery throwing, photography, bee keeping courses which we have enjoyed doing together.

We set off at 8.00 and arrived in Somerset at the same time as James and two of Aimee's dearest friends, also arrived!  The experience was emotional but fun and the company were kind and compassionate and lovely to know that Aimee's coffin has been made with love, using English willow by a company who first started in 1920 - not some crap coffin from China!!!

We finished up early afternoon and James and B&E went off for lunch but we had grabbed a sandwich on the way down.  They were heading off to Glastonbury Tor for a walk but we decided to drive home.  I dropped K off in Winchester before driving the rest of the way home - exhausted from the day and the emotion but I can hear Aimee saying 'well done Mum'.
