Ragged (Day 3495)

I had decided today was a day off, and consequently I got up later than usual this morning. Pain levels were pretty high and it took a while before I was able to get both of my socks on without causing myself a lot of extra pain.
I spent the morning doing nothing much, and after lunch headed to town for an appointment with the physioterrorist. He spent ages taking my history (again) then asked what I was expecting as the outcome of my appointment with him. I told him I really didn't expect that there would be anything he could do for me and that my seeing him was just another step on the pathway to getting an MRI scan.
He examined me and got me to do various bends and stretches to see which movements cause me more pain, after which he told me that he can't really do anything for me until after I have had an MRI scan.
Back home, in more discomfort than I had been before my appointment, I followed the instructions on a letter I received this morning in order to book a spinal triage appointment with the hospital in Aberdeen. This was the result of an "urgent" referral by my GP two weeks ago. Someone from the hospital in Aberdeen will call me on Tuesday, and I will get to tell them my history all over again, and tell them what hurts and how much and what pain relief isn't relieving the pain. They will then decide when and if I need further treatment or investigation but I suspect that will not happen until next year.
Thankfully  my beautiful wife has been around today to deal with dog wandering duties.
