Blue Sky Over Spring Lake

Today was a bit of an experiment. In an effort to fit in exercise for ourselves and Spike on a fairly busy day, we opted to go out first thing. This was the view over Spring Lake which has gone from muddy brown to blue as the mud and silt from the epic downpour of a few weeks ago has settled to the bottom. There was a clearer view of the lake, but I have posted it many times. and opted for this view of  glimpses of blue through the silhouettes of the trees.

We repaired to Trail House for coffee afterward where we were the first patrons of the day. After that, I had just enough time to take John and Spike home and get to my hairdresser's. I stopped at the shopping center on the way home to do a bit of Christmas shopping. I saw a purse I really liked which would nicely replace the one purse I ever use and which is probably at least 25 years old. It was the perfect size and had a strap which the current one doesn't, but I refrained since this shopping trip wasn't about me.

Back home again I had just enough time to have some lunch and start making the first star for the second front of the quilted coat when it was time to get back in the car and accompany John to the neurologist. It wasn't clear why we were going since we were just there a couple of months ago. I think it was an appointment that should have been cancelled but wasn't.  But John wanted to go, and he wanted me to go with him, so off we went to Petaluma. We got to look at the MRI of his brain once again but as I suspected, didn't really learn anything new.
We spent more time waiting for some blood to be drawn than we did with the doctor.

Being up with the sunrise, we are now home just as the sun is setting, and I'm ready for bed! Maybe tomorrow will be the day to bring the Christmas tree in out of the cold.  Although I'm pretty sure the tree would prefer to stay right where it is....
