Drab Day In Detroit

Today was the second day of swim finals; qualifying day for 11 and over. This years event is being hosted by Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle The Island is a beautiful historic park in the middle of the Detroit River with stunning views of Detroit and Windsor, Canada.....usually. Today it was cloudy, rainy and downright chilly, with temp's barely cracking the 70 (F) mark. For July, the middle of summer, that's almost cold. Especially with the wind blowing. Still, the event goes on and both girls qualified to swim on the final day. Another early trip down to the D tomorrow and temps are supposed to be even cooler!!

I took a couple of breaks from the swim action to stroll the grounds and take some shots. At one point the top of the Renaissance Center, home of GM (in the center of the photo) was shrouded in foggy cloud cover.
