The Lake

We were fortunate enough to stay in the Lake Hotel in Killarney - as the name suggests it is right on the shores of an enormous lake and the views were utterly spell binding - every time we went back into our room the light and colours seemed to have changed.
What a fantastic hotel - amazing location, big rooms and really welcoming staff and there was even a scenically derelict castle!
After becoming a citizen (me first) the day was gorgeous and we went for a long walk in the Muckross Park which just happened to be next door. We returned ans then treated ourselves to an hour and half spa time - yes, the hotel also had a spa!  The best 20 euros I’ve ever spent! There was an outdoor hot tub and heated infinity pool and inside were saunas, a steam room and experiential showers! You could choose from tropical rain forest (complete with parrot noises ) to warmish fog (lovely menthol pongs) to a Siberian downpour complete with thunder and lightning! It was bliss and completely finished us off!

Now home and writing this on Thursday and I'm totally overwhelmed with the warm and generous comments about our citizenship. Thank you so much, each one read and cherished,

I think all the excitement has worn us out though - Himself has come back with something nasty, possibly due to a suspect chowder, and we are just taking it easy as we now await Storm Darragh!, It's blowing a hoolie and lashing and I had to do the shopping - drenched!
