Speech by the Maire

It was the afternoon of the gathering for the old folk in the village, a community of which I have recently officially become a member. That means both Mrs TT and I get our Christmas hampers. The Maire took the opportunity to give a speech about his effort to secure a doctor in the village. This follows a recent public meeting hosted by the opposition arguing for a village health centre. At least that meeting has got things moving a bit even if the Maire does not go along with the idea of a fully funded health centre. The afternoon was convivial and we enjoyed 'bras de Venus (Swiss roll with patisserie custard filling), champagne, sweets, hot chocolate and coffee.
