Women's Voices
Manjit and Bilvirik, our new Sikh neighbours invited us and Steph for afternoon chai, and a huge batch of vegetable pakoras. Lots of chat, and we got shown round the huge house, which an interior decorator will work on while they are away in England, including a new wooden floor. They have such a good view from their balcony of our house, the Lake, the castle, and the town.
If you haven't seen Kendall's latest Blip, and wonder what use you'll be when you are old and forgetful, it's really worth a read. I hope I have someone as kind as Kendall when I get like that.
Mary's Voice: And Mary said... (Luke 1v46), and there follows the longest speech of any woman in the New Testament. History, especially of that era, rarely values the voices of women enough to record them - but the Bible does, and they are given much weight. Fifth video.
Gratefuls:
- the beauty as I walked into town this morning, the mist had left sparkling droplets on every leaf, utterly magical
- two more lovely women I am privileged to know
- going off for dinner at Ermelinda and Cecílio's in a bit, to catch up before we leave, and that makes another wonderful woman
