Christmas Lights, De Ferrers Centre
It's been a while since we've been to the De Ferrers Centre at Staunton Harold and the last time we went was because I wanted a photo framed. I took two photos today. Needless to say, they won't be ready now until the end of January but that's alright because it gives me another excuse to go.
Clouds were scudding across the sky as we drove there and rain began to fall as we arrived. Which meant we saw the courtyard in all its Christmas glory without anyone else there. That will be tomorrow on shopping night. This of course, will be a middle class event. Working class can't afford to walk there.
It was so lovely to see all the lights in the courtyard. After we'd finished at the framers we popped next door to The Stables café where I had a very nice slice of pistachio and raspberry cake with mulled wine, except there wasn't any wine in it. Len had coffee cake and latte.
He began to get very perturbed because it was getting dark and he doesn't like driving after dark. I offered to drive but he wouldn't have it.
I phoned the vets this morning to ask if Basil could have tablets rather than liquid medicine for pain relief from arthritis. The receptionist said she would ask the vet. I still haven't heard back.
