Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Luckily I went for an early walk by the ocean, because at 10:45 there was an offshore 7.0 earthquake about 300 miles north of us, which resulted in a tsunami warning all along the coast. Phones beeped with an urgent message: “You are in danger. Move to high ground now. Keep away from the coast.”  I am very glad I wasn’t standing by this fence when I read the note. This particular spot gets a good splash on a normal day. 

Sitting at the big dining table at home, I did feel the quake. The tsunami warning was cancelled fairly soon after it was posted. 

Somewhere in the middle of all that excitement we ducked out to buy a Christmas tree.
