Well that was cool

The head of the agency met with a group of us. Nothing much to say as we don’t know who will be taking over the agency next but, if you have nothing comforting to say, you can still sit with people and you can tell them you value them. 

After, I thanked her for her support and her service throughout her tenure and told her my mother-in-law was a huge fan and was so excited when she was selected. She thanked me and then asked if my mother-in-law would like a picture. I nearly ran over a colleague to get my cell phone and one of the staffers clearly knew the drill and picked a good backdrop and took a bunch of pictures. Then someone else asked. And a third. And I joked that she was Elizabeth Warren now, because Elizabeth Warren is known for staying after her speeches and doing selfies with everyone who wants one, even if it means staying there for two hours.

There are maybe FOUR organizations, right now, that want to host my show in 2025.

There was some serious US freak out about the Biden decision, with some people declaring that Biden was trying to subject us to a nuclear war. Look. Anyone with experience with abusers will tell you - they are going to do what they are going to do. Your avoidance behaviors will not stop them from being abusive. Nothing you do will stop them from being or cause them to be abusive. General Valero Gerasimov called the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He told him that the ballistic missile launch had been planned long before the Biden administration agreed to allow Ukraine to use them inside Russia.
