Psychedelic, Man!
Recently I visited the Portland Art Museum to view two exhibits: Psychedelic Rock Posters and Fashion of the 1960s and Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm.
The museum wrote about the poster/fashion exhibit: " To capture the heady experience of life and music at this time, poster artists invented a graphic language drawing on disparate historical precedents such as Art Nouveau, Wild West posters, and Victorian engraving and combined them with vibrating color, inventive lettering, and witty and provocative design."
I especially enjoyed the dresses and other garments of the '60s, and I fondly remember that era of my adolescence. (See extra).
The Paul McCartney photo exhibit included over 200 photos, including a handwritten copy of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand". (See extra).
"Lately it occurs to me
What a long strange trip it's been..." Grateful Dead
Oh, yes!
