Early babysitting
Over the road before 8.30 to look after J for about an hour. His mum an dad are going to a parents meeting at J’s pre-school to discuss his progress. He’s very easy to look after, because he’s chatty and interested in everything. Clearly he’s still in Halloween mode and after looking at various plastic spiders, severed fingers and eyeballs, he started to pile up pumpkins and squashes on the table, all grown by his dad on their allotment. Some are decorative, some edible. I thought this made a nice scene. I said to J my photo would be even nicer if he was in it, but he didn’t want to, and I have to respect that. A very nice start to my day
The rest of the day was spent backing up the decorator - hoovering, cleaning, moving things, going out to get more paint. We make quite a good team.
Interestingly I got a proper heartfelt apology from the window fitting man. I replied that I thought he might think about going to see his GP to get some help with his stress, or arrange counselling for himself. And apparently he really wants to fix the snags with my windows himself. We shall see. The decorator M will be here so it should be ok.
