Unique
An early start when O and his mate came to start on the garden.
We had plans to go to Stoke on Trent to an event in Stoke Minster. The Longest Yarn, A thread through history. The D Day story told in knitting wool. 80 panels of Britain at War.
I heard about it on the local TV and today was the last day in Stoke before it moves to Tewkesbury Abbey on the 7th December.
It was very well attended, not a surprise as the work was incredible. More details are available on www.thelongestyarn.com The knitting is complex and to be admired, but whoever designed the patterns is brilliant. It took almost an hour to walk round in a slow procession, most people taking photos.
This was the first time we have taken the train to Stoke, a bit of an experiment to plan future outings. Rather than driving places, we can use our senior rail cards. It only cost £16 for the two rail tickets and car parking at the station.
R came round at lunchtime to check on Amber and do loo duties.
We arrived home just as it started to rain and as O and his mate were packing up for the day. They have got on well under the circumstances.
