Vintage 1930s 1940s Carved Bakelite Gentian Violet Brooch



That’s what it says on Google.  Sadly only worth about £10, apparently quite common.
 
I was looking for an artificial flower for Flower Friday, and rummaged through boxes of stuff I inherited from my Auntie (many years ago) who inherited it from my Mum when she passed away, very many years before.  It was the first time that I had had a proper rummage, and found memorabilia of my Dad that I did not know still existed.  I feel a project coming on.
 
This brooch was amongst boxes of costume and other jewellery that I don’t know where to start sorting out.  I think I will have to enlist the help of the local jeweller in sorting the wheat from the chaff.
 
 
For the record the brooch is about 1 ½ inches long and the shot was a 30 frame photo stack.
