Pea tendrils

Charlie has amazed me this year - he's always been a happy soul digging in the garden (ironically it's how we think he caught the eColi: from eating cow manure in the vegetable patch), but this year he's planted, nurtured and grown mangetout peas, golfball courgettes, Duke of York potatoes and garlic: quite impressive for a 7-year-old with just four old car tyres.

I'm building proper raised beds this autumn and I've got some topsoil being delivered by a farmer friend - so next year should see us getting back to some serious growing. I've missed that with the upheaval of the past few years: I think it's time to put more than just vegetable roots down in Kelso now.
