More candles!
It is 3:30pm and going steadily darker.
This morning I took myself off on a walk around the block, which goes down the road and then along a footpath behind the school. It was c1850 steps. Just enough. At the time I wanted to catch the veiled sunshine before the cloud cover rolled in a bit later.
Before lunch I was writing Christmas cards. Some to go by hand and the others to post.
We are beginning to have a few each day in the post.
Stephen went round to the family’s afterwards to drop the presents and card off which my sister had brought with her for our grandchildren, being her two nieces and two nephews. He’d also made some bread that the grandchildren love, along with some Yorkshire Parkin also homemade.
The children haven’t been very well.
Then he went off to deliver a present at our favourite pub where they are supporting a children’s charity and you could pick a tag out of a basket which had the age and gender of a child (how that word gets bandied about!) so a suitable gift could be given. Fixed price for all.
He’s just returned from shopping and decided to cut back the sedum in the garden. It is now almost dark and the candles and lights are switched on.
They make everything look so cosy.
I was doing my new set of exercises after lunch in the back lounge. And practising walking without the crutch in the kitchen. I can touch a worktop either side if needed, if temporarily off balance, but so far, it’s been ok.
Now I’m having a rest and listening to the Classic FM calm 3U radio. About to have cuppa with hubby who is making one having now come in from the garden.
The weather warning for severe winds and rain from Storm Darragh seems to once more about to hit Wales, the Southwest and further North.
I hope it isn’t as bad as feared.
Stay safe everyone.
