A Cycad

There is just me and Mrs. Bob now, the rest are winging their way back to the UK. It is going to be a quiet week before we leave here next Sunday.

It is always great to see the offspring. They get on very well together and are great fun to play with. It's quite refreshing to see that despite their successes to date, they all enjoy the simple things in life and haven't lost touch with reality. All of them have their feet firmly planted on the ground and are very good at recognising when to put in the effort and when to chill.

We have tried to instill into them the need to extract as much enjoyment out of life as possible and the way to do that is to recognise much of life is a necessity. So you might as well do your very best every day and enjoy giving your best. So far so good.

I am going to have the rest of the day off, hence a pretty boring blip from the garden.

The blip is a male Cycad.

The cycads are known to be an extremely ancient group, and are now recognised as the sister group to all other living seed plants. They predate dinosaurs and have been thought to be in danger of extinction. They have become popular in parks & gardens.

They grow exceedingly slowly and live to great ages, many are known over 1,000 years old.

That's about all I know about them and I didn't even look in Wikipedia?

Enjoy your Sunday and thank you all for receiving the family shot so well yesterday.
