A Flock of Skimmers

There were so many birds on the south end of Litchfield Beach. This is a flock of Black Skimmers. Black skimmers are social birds that nest in colonies and flock together outside of nesting season.
Colonies can range in size of two to thousands of birds. One of my favorite things to see at the beach are all the different sea birds.
