Optical Illusion.
Clickychick and I grabbed a day with no appointments etc to nip up to Carlisle to do some research foran improvement we want to do at the Lodge. We expected it to take all day. By lunch time we were happy with what we had decided and so headed for lunch at the Toby carvery. On route we found the building where I have a medical appointment tomorrow, tucked away at the bottom of an industrial estate.
After lunch CC wanted some "Christmas" things i.e. ribbon and as it turned out recyclable wrapping paper. So we headed for Houghton Garden centre. We started, you guessed, it with coffee, I decided I wasn't interested in wandering round the garden centre so headed back to the car to doze.
As I passed the lighting part of Christmas decorations I saw these illusions. Each of the light coloured dots are spots of light so the decoration looks to the eye about 45cm (18") deep. if you look at it from the side you will see it is actually about 1cm thick. How that is achieved I don't know but it certainly catches you attention.
If you look down at the eight of the stand you can see how thick it is.
