Anne's Daily Encounters

Rainbow above Chalkida

Left my nephew and his family in Athens and did hit the road with the rented car. Went up to Aliartos, what's a little beyond Thiva (Thebe), driving from Athens, to hand Mr. Yannis his photo  and that of that of the painting of Federigo della Montefeltre, painted by Pierro della Francesca in 15th Century; Mr Yannis was ever so delighted to see me return and hand him over my "twin portrait". He offered me a coffee and a sweet and time for a happy chat.We both thought we had a good start of the day.

Via Thiva I went up to Chalkida in the East and coming down from the high hills I had this view onto the city, connecting the island of Evvia with mainland Greece and the rainbow above it.
