Independence Day Ball

The Finnish President and Partner host a Ball each year on Finnish Independence Day (6 December).  This was in fact the 107th Ball.

The image is a Knight's Cross of the Order of the White Rose.  As I was watching Finnish tv (YLE), I sent a few Finnish friends a message of congratulations.  One of them, Hannu, sent me the photograph of his honour.  he left the statement, " I am a Knight actually...….".

It was awarded for his work with the Finnish Ministry of Culture.
