A day out in Oban

Things didn’t go to plan, a storm is brewing and apparently Calmac had problems with finding crew for the last ferry.  Too intent on preparing for days in Oban at Pets Home I missed news of the pending storm and how this would affect the ferries for tomorrow. Fortunately my CP friend was on the ball, decisions had to be made, I changed the van booking from Saturday to 9.30 Friday night, the only availability, afterwards to receive a message from Calmac to tell us this ferry was now cancelled, not enough crew for the sailing.  A quick turn around, sort out the raffle, a local winner, sort out the van to leave in Oban and take the 15.55 ferry as passengers. I will add it was nothing like as simple as that.  Later I heard the 15.55 was the last ferry to leave for Mull.  A good move although I am not happy about leaving the van, the positive side it is good to be home, it is wild out there. 

Despite the above we had a steady day selling raffle tickets, all in all a good visit, the staff are wonderful and I have bought the cats a present, but will they use it?  It is in the van in Oban, we will have to wait and see.
