Around the hotel gardens
Madeira is such a perfect place for growing beautiful plants, flowers and vegetables. She is blessed with the volcanic soils, the glorious sunshine, and enough rain (well distributed via the levadas).
Around the hotel gardens, so lovingly tended, we are treated to stunning plants. Many bear a resemblance to familiar blooms, and there are lots which we need to look up (thank heavens for PlantNet.)
Today’s blips are three lovely varieties that you pass as you pop over to the little supermarket.
My main blip is a variety of hydrangea (Dombeya wallichii), also known as the Pink Ball plant or the Tropical hydrangea.
My extras are
The Blue Trumpet Vine or Clockvine (Thunbergia Lauriflora)
And
The flame vine (Pyrostegia).
Whatever their technical details, they are just glorious.
