Buildings
I think I spent a large part of my life not particularly interested in architecture, and even now it's a purely aesthetic interest. Which makes living near Manchester quite irritating as the west end of Deansgate has the most boring collection of identikit skyscrapers I've ever seen.
This view from Chapel Street takes in the other end of town, though, which is a bit more varied at least.
Part of the problem is down to planning departments and local councillors. I think need a differently qualified bunch to review the plans for these huge, dominating structures, a committee made up of artists and architects, young people and pensioners, and, above all, people who care about the city they live in.
And if that makes it difficult to get buildings approved, then fine.
Anyway, that grumble aside, I had a nice day, including a visit from Hannah in the evening.
